On March 17, 2016, Assured Flow Solutions proudly presented “Thinking Beyond the Drill Bit 2016”, our third annual symposium. This year, we returned to our technical roots and focused on the production optimization of onshore oil and gas developments. Our distinguished presenters discussed:

        - Gathering system multiphase flow modeling challenges;
        - Gathering system optimization in a newly acquired asset;
        - A facilities debottlenecking case study.

Event timeline:

       4:00 p.m. - Registration and Networking
       4:20 p.m. - Symposium
       6:00 p.m. - Dinner, Beer, March Madness, Bracket Games, Beer Tasting, and Brewery Tour

Tony Pesce

Sr. Facilities Engineer & Midstream Coordinator at Noble Energy

Wells Ranch Expansion – Gathering System Multiphase Flow Modeling Challenges

This presentation will discuss challenges associated with matching multiphase flow hydraulic predictions with field data and the practical implications on the future design of the gathering system.

Elijah Kempton

Onshore Manager and Flow Assurance Advisor at Assured Flow Solutions

Wheeler Midstream, Gathering System Optimization in an Acquired Asset

This presentation will discuss lessons learned from a recent FourPoint Energy / EnerVest gathering system optimization project which evaluated various options to increase flow in the field.

Chris Peters

Senior Project Engineer at Tesoro Logistics

Debottlenecking of a Cryogenic Processing Plant Case Study

The final presentation in our technical symposium will discuss the engineering and construction effort required to debottleneck a facility.  Engineering analyses included overall plant performance impacts, line hydraulics, suitability of existing instrumentation, and equipment sizing.
